The right fit

Sizing advice for your belt

Measure a belt that fits you from the end of the buckle to the middle hole. That number is your size, and if it falls between two sizes, we take the nearer one.

Where is it to sit?
Low Waist
On the hips

On the waistband of your trousers, below the waist — the usual seat with jeans. Run the tape through the belt loops of the trousers you will wear it with.

High Waist
At the waist

On a high-waisted trouser or skirt, at the narrowest point. Measure there, over the garment — not on bare skin.

Waist belt
Over a dress

Over a dress or a coat, worn at or just above the waist. Measure over the garment you will wear it with — the fabric counts.

Measure where you will actually wear it — comfortably, not tightly, and over the garment it will sit on. That measurement in centimetres is your belt size.

How to measure correctly

  1. Lay a belt that fits you flat on the table.
  2. Measure from the end of the buckle to the middle hole.
  3. That figure is your size. Between two sizes, take the nearer one: 93 cm is size 95.

A special note

✕
„I always wear size M — so I’ll order M."
Clothing sizes vary considerably between brands — and they do not say where the garment sits on you. That is why we no longer derive a belt size from them. Measure instead: a belt that fits you.
✕
„I just measure my waist."
Measure where the belt is actually going to sit. With jeans that is the hips, not the narrowest point; as a waist belt over a dress it is the waist, over the fabric. Between the two lie up to two sizes.
✕
„I measure the full length of my old belt."
Measure only to the middle hole, not to the tip of the belt. The full length leads to ordering a size too large; it is the most common reason a belt arrives too big.

Between two sizes: choose the nearer one.
Our size is the middle hole, and the holes sit 2.5 cm apart, so each size covers your measurement plus or minus two centimetres. Exactly in between? Then take the smaller one: a polo belt may overhang, that is rather the style. If you’re unsure, we’ll gladly advise you personally.

How a polo belt sits

Unlike a classic leather belt, on a polo belt the overhanging end may be a little longer. It’s guided through the belt loop and rests to the side, which is not a flaw but the characteristic look of a polo belt. So a measured figure that lands exactly on one of our sizes is a good place to be: you wear the belt near its tighter end, with room left for years to come. With every wear, it becomes even more a part of your personality.
